COLLECTIVE INVESTMENT SCHEMES (MUTUAL FUNDS)

A mutual fund (or unit trust) is an investment vehicle that pools the money of many individuals to invest in stocks, bonds, money market securities, real estate or some combination of these.

FEATURES OF OUR COLLECTIVE INVESTMENT SCHEMES

  • Funds are open-ended
  • Memorandum listing on The Nigerian Stock Exchange
  • Separate statutory reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Separate accounting/auditing of the funds
  • Daily valuation to determine the Bid/Offer Price for Entry/Exit
  • Redemption between 24 hours for Naira-denominated funds and 3-5 business days for dollar-denominated investments
  • Re-Investment of dividend at the unit holder's discretion

Dr. Odiri Oginni

MD/CEO, United Capital Asset Management

Dr. Odiri Oginni is currently the MD/CEO at United Capital Asset Management Limited. She has over 12 years’ relevant experience in the financial services sector in the areas of audit and compliance, portfolio management, financial analyses and reporting enhancements, tax and regulatory management, strategy and investor relations, treasury and cash flow management, business process automation, capital raising (equity and debt), budget preparation and analysis, corporate rating management and finance team training and development.


Her past roles include Group Chief Finance Officer, Head, FINCON and Head, Financial Planning, Strategy and Investor Relations at United Capital Plc. Odiri was also the CFO at UBA Capital Limited (the defunct investment banking arm of United Bank for Africa Plc), Portfolio Analyst at BGL Plc and Audit Senior at Akintola Williams & Deloitte (now Deloitte and Touche). She is a First Class graduate of Accounting from Babcock University, an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a CFA Charter holder.

Similola Igbinoba

Head, Institutional & HNI Sales

Similola Igbinoba is the Head of Institutional & HNI Sales at United Capital Asset Management, with over 19 years of experience across private banking, institutional sales, investment advisory, portfolio management, relationship management, and business development. She is an accomplished financial services professional with expertise in delivering tailored wealth and investment solutions to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), institutional investors, and corporate clients.


Throughout her career, Similola has built a strong track record of driving revenue growth, deepening client relationships, and expanding investment opportunities. She oversees portfolios valued at billions of naira and is recognised for identifying emerging market opportunities, developing client-focused investment solutions, and delivering measurable business outcomes.


Prior to joining United Capital, she served as Head of Institutional and Retail Sales at Nova Merchant Bank. She also held senior roles at Coronation Merchant Bank and Associated Discount House, where she gained extensive experience in treasury, corporate banking, wealth management, portfolio management, and business development.


Similola holds an MBA in Strategic Planning from Edinburgh Business School, United Kingdom, a Bachelor of Science degree from Ambrose Alli University, and has completed the Executive Programme in Business Analytics at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Credit Administration (FNICA) and an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management (ANIM).

Head, Business Development

Doris Michael-Obi is the Head of Business Development, Asset Management at United Capital Plc, with over 18 years of experience across asset management, investment services, corporate banking, commercial banking, SME finance, and relationship management. She is an accomplished financial services executive with expertise in business development, investment solutions, strategic partnerships, and client relationship management.


Throughout her career, Doris has built a strong track record of developing and executing growth strategies, mobilising institutional and corporate investments, and delivering sustainable revenue growth across Nigeria's financial services industry. She has also led cross-functional teams, structured complex financing solutions, managed strategic partnerships, and driven business transformation initiatives.


Prior to joining her current role, she held positions at Access Bank Plc, and Diamond Bank Plc, where she contributed to strategic initiatives that increased assets under management, expanded SME access to finance, structured multimillion-dollar financing transactions, and strengthened client portfolios across corporate, commercial, and institutional segments.


Doris holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is a Chartered Banker. She is passionate about developing sustainable financial solutions, fostering client success, and contributing to the advancement of Nigeria's financial services industry.
