Who We Are

The United Capital Infrastructure Fund (UCIF) is a specialized debt fund, with a ₦150 billion program size, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”). The Fund is managed by United Capital Asset Management Limited, a leading fund manager with over ₦1.18 trillion in assets under management and proudly sponsored by United Capital Plc.

UCIF provides long-term, local currency debt facilities of up to 15-year tenors to transformative infrastructure projects with a high degree of certainty of future cash flows. The Fund is authorized to invest up to 80% of its total assets in Nigeria and up to 20% in Sub-Saharan Africa. UCIF is positioned to deliver both financial returns and sustainable impact by providing fit-for-purpose investments in critical infrastructure sectors.

Fund Management
UCIF’s core competency lies in investment and fund management. Leveraging our expertise, we effectively manage specialized investment portfolios with a focus on optimizing returns for investors.

Co-Financing
UCIF embraces co-financing as a strategic tool to drive impact. This entails partnering with other financiers including domestic and international finance institutions, we are able to leverage capital by jointly investing in infrastructure projects, thereby unlocking greater capital that enables the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, and strengthen portfolio diversification and resilience, while upholding our commitment to sustainable and inclusive economic development.

Investing
UCIF provides long term debt facilities such as infrastructure loans, working capital loans, revolving facilities and co financing options. These facilities are designed to support high-impact projects that align with our sustainability goals, offering tenors of up to 15 years, and are made available to successful projects in line with our due diligence and good governance standards.

De Buys is the Managing Partner at Cornerstone Infrastructure Advisors and former Senior Partner, Infrastructure at KPMG (South Africa). He is a qualified CA (SA) with vast South African, African and International experience in transaction advisory services on Public-Private-Partnerships; Corporate & Project Finance; Procurement processes; Disposals; Capital-raising in various sectors including health, hospitals, passenger rail and office accommodation for national government departments.

Bunmi Akinremi

Bunmi Akinremi
Bunmi is the CEO of TOCAM Capital, a Project Development and Transaction Advisory firm with a focus on natural resources and associated infrastructure. He is a finance professional with over 30 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience across Nigeria, the USA, and the UK, where he has raised over $5 billion for the Nigeria market, led the 2005 merger of Standard Trust Bank and UBA, and restructured Econet (Airtel) via strategic fundraising. He served as SSA on economic policy to two Nigerian presidents (2008–2015), established the Corporate Finance unit at GT Bank, and has held Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee roles for companies in the financial services and real estate sectors. He previously worked as a SM at Grant Thornton (UK), holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Essex and an MBA from Cranfield University.

Bola is the Regional Lead, Transaction Advisory & Equity Mobilization at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). She is an Impact Investing Emerging Market Professional with 25+ years of experience in originating and structuring impact investments, ensuring sustainable development outcomes. She has working experience in Sub-Sahara Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. She is also skilled in International Business, M&A Advisory, and Infrastructure, Structured & Project Finance.

Obinna Ufudo

Obinna Ufodo
Obinna is the Chairman of Loanbook Limited. He is a multi-sector general management professional with extensive board-level experience. He has thirty years of experience in banking, organisational set-up, resource allocation, financial strategy, personnel management and corporate turnaround. He led the restructure and turnaround of a leading Nigerian multi-sector conglomerate as President/Group CEO, growing shareholder value by over $1billion within three years.

Uchenna Mkparu

Uchenna Mkparu
Uchenna is the Infrastructure Fund Manager at United Capital. He has 19 years of professional experience, including over 11 years in financial services, advisory, infrastructure finance, and fund management. He has worked on landmark project finance transactions across Nigeria, with broad expertise spanning project finance, infrastructure financing, and investment fund management. He previously served as Head of Transportation at The Infrastructure Bank Plc., where he led strategic infrastructure initiatives across key sectors. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering Technology from Babcock University, Nigeria; an Executive Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the Project Management College, UK; and is an alumnus of Queen’s University.

Adeyinka is the CEO of Custodian Trustees Limited. He is a trust expert with over 25 years professional experience; an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria; a certified Data Protection Officer, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Lagos, and a Bachelor of Laws from the Lagos State University.
